Buenas,
yesterday with Luis Fraile (@lfraile) gave us to cross a couple of Tweets on the subject of new certifications that have been directed to one profile of ALM with Team Foundation Server and Visual Studio 2012.
Certification is a Microsoft Certified Solution Developer (MCSD) Application Lifecycle Management ALM and tests for it are:
- 70-496: Administering Microsoft Visual Studio Team Foundation Server 2012
- 70-497: Software Testing with Visual Studio 2012
- 70-498: Delivering Continuous Value with Visual Studio 2012 Application Lifecycle Management
Now, the question is: If one obtains the MCSD ALM, are already qualified? my humble answer isNO. (and a not very big). Manage a team, manage a project, manage anything requires some kind of experience that can come from the hand of tools such as VS ALM or even simplest tools like Excel or a text editor (I have seen complete teams that manage your Product Backlog from Scrum with Excel in great way! )).
Come on, that a person having clear concepts which they explain in my book of ALM , as then may jump from TFS2010 to TFS2012 and appreciate the improvements thereof; or even work with GIT +TeamCity + YouTrack and similarly to carry forward a team.
I will focus them to me on the list of Kings, and if I have time, I will try to get the 3 for the next Millennium
